UK Student Visa Checklist


1. Visa Application Form


  • Complete the UK Student Visa online application form on the official UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) website.



2. Valid Passport


  • Passport valid for the duration of your studies.

  • Must have at least 1 blank page.



3. Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS)


  • Electronic reference number issued by your UK university/college.

  • Includes details of your course, tuition fees, and sponsor license number.



4. Financial Evidence (Proof of Funds)


  • Bank statements showing sufficient funds to cover:

    • Tuition fees (as mentioned in your CAS)

    • Living costs (approx. £1,334/month in London or £1,023/month outside London for up to 9 months).

  • Money should be held for at least 28 consecutive days before application.



5. English Language Requirement


  • Proof of English proficiency (IELTS Academic, PTE, TOEFL, or equivalent) if required.

  • Some students may be exempt (if studied in English before).



6. Passport-size Photographs


  • Recent, colored, biometric photographs (if required during application).



7. Tuberculosis (TB) Test Certificate


  • Mandatory for applicants from certain countries, valid for 6 months.



8. ATAS Certificate (if applicable)


  • For certain postgraduate courses (mostly science, engineering, or research-related subjects).



9. Academic Documents


  • Previous degree certificates, diplomas, or transcripts.

  • Documents mentioned in your CAS statement.



10. Visa Fee & Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS)


  • Visa fee: approx. £490 (subject to change).

  • Immigration Health Surcharge: approx. £776 per year of study (gives access to NHS healthcare in the UK).



11. Parental Consent (if under 18)


  • Letter of consent from parents/guardians.

  • Proof of relationship (birth certificate).



12. Additional Supporting Documents


  • Resume/CV (if required).

  • Work experience letters (if applicable).

  • Marriage/birth certificate (if applying with dependents).
